The showgrounds on the edge of Ballinasloe in east Galway, the town better known for its October horse fair. The show that uses this ground has run since 1829 and is among the oldest in Ireland. Rings for horses, ponies, cattle, sheep and dogs are laid out on grass with the trade stands around them.
