The wide street beside the north channel of the Lee that Cork people still call the Coal Quay, and the city's old open air market ground. The Saturday market sets up on the paved plaza at the Kyle Street end under gazebos, so it trades in the open. Stalls are West Cork vegetables, fish, eggs, cheese and bakery goods with a run of artisan and hot food traders.
