A small paved square off Carlow's main street, named for the potato trade that once used it and now given over to a Saturday market of about nineteen traders. Stalls are gazebos and trestle tables in the open, so it is a wet weather gamble. Traders sell bread and cakes, cheese, meat and fish, fruit and vegetables, plants, hot food and craft goods.
